The COMMIT to RIGHTS European project team will travel to Reggio Emilia (Italy) at the end of September. During this visit, project members will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about the local offices working on related topics. The project, led by the Girona City Council, has the support of local and international institutions and organizations, including the University of Girona and two international partners in the city of Reggio Emilia. COMMIT to RIGHTS aims to develop a methodology and effective strategies for implementing participatory local public policies capable of counteracting the phenomena of intersectional discrimination through participatory governance.
The visit to Italy will allow the team to delve deeper into models for the interpretation and intersectional analysis of discrimination, as well as intervention methodologies for (potential) victims. In addition, good practices in the field of training and public awareness will be explored.
The project aims to improve public authorities' response to discrimination, racism, antisemitism, xenophobia, LGBTIQ-phobia, and all other forms of intolerance and to increase public awareness of these phenomena.
With this visit, the COMMIT to RIGHTS team reinforces its commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable society.
